1 super handy feature of Power Query

What is your favourite feature of Power Query?

Mine, by all means, is the option to import data from a folder. Located under

  • Power Query –> From File in Excel 2013
  • Data tab –> New Query –> From File in Excel 2016

the option is a handy way of keeping track of all your documents in a folder (and its sub-folders)

I can now have a full list of all my files, their extensions, paths and modification dates at the click of a button

Hoooray! Gone are the days when every time I wanted a refreshed status of my document library I would have to do multiple cmd commands to get only half of that information in a text file that needed to be subsequently imported in Excel
